The week of September 21

This week God blessed us to minister at Drug Rehab in Bratsk city and at church in Shumilovo; also, to pray on Friday evening for children and grandchildren with Ust-Kut church. We experienced snow and cold.

We had a great time of fellowship with 12 people at Rehab. They had a chance to ask questions. We shared testimonies and prayed for their needs. After that, Yuriy preached at the small church there. The main scripture was the Gospel of John 3:14-16. The building used for the service was under reconstruction with a lot of dust. Very similar atmosphere was in many people’s hearts. They prayed for God’s help and renewal their lives, for keeping them clean and dead to the sins.

Many trees already lost their leaves.
The snow was on the ground.

It was God’s plan for us to visit Shumilovo twice. During our second visit, we finished what God called us for. We were peacemakers for that small church. Leaders could open their hearts and talk to us openly. They asked each other for forgiveness. We prayed with them. After long time of storm among people at that church, peace came into their hearts. Praise God! Please continue to pray for them: for the unity and fresh revelation from God.

Beautiful view

You can see icy water.

Friday evening is a prayer time for many churches and groups around the world. We loved to pray together at Erie, PA on 1209 State Street. We were glad to join with prayer here in Siberia on Friday evening. Christians prayed directly for their children and grandchildren. They staid for the children. The Christians set our family as a good ensample

Church in Ust-Ilimsk

Sunday morning on September 21 was a great time of worship at Ust-Ilimsk church “Spirit of Faith.” with Pastor Nikolay Chernenko. The building was packed with people. This church is growing fast because of leading two Rehabs.

Yuriy preached at Wednesday and Sunday services. People’s hearts were open to the Holy Spirit. Anointing of God was real. People cried to God praying for their lives, families and relatives. At the end of service, pastor asked his church if they would like to bless international ministry of Yuriy and Olga. Now, we were crying to see people’s hearts responding to the Holy Spirit: those, who yesterday and days before yesterday were addicted and spent all the money and time to drugs and alcohol, were making investment into ministry for the Kingdom of God around the world. How could we be not crying!? God brings His people together and unites them for His glory. We want to see pastor Nikolay in the USA on April of 2009 at international leadership conference.

This wooden building is too small for over 200 people.

They are doing remodeling of concrete block building next to the church. People who were drug abused went through the program, got free, started their businesses, and after their regular work are doing reconstruction work for the church. Now, they are investing their time and money for the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord! God is great! The church is planning to move her service into new building during this winter when the heater system would be done. The rest of the finish work could be performed later.

Alco and Drug Rehabs, Ust-Ilimsk

We visited two Rehab centers in Ust-Ilimsk city. One of them is the first one that Ust-Ilimsk church started five years ago. Now, the church has eleven Rehabs in different regions of Russia. We had a privilege to talk and pray for the people at Drug Rehab. We could see that they want to get free. Some of them asked to pray for their relatives who are still addicted. Two people open their hearts to accept Jesus and prayed a prayer of sinners for the first time. Other person was already free from addictions and asked to pray for his wife and relatives, who are not Christians, yet. We had a great time together.

Leaders of Alco center (for alcohol abused people) are Igor and Lena Bayborodin. Because of Jesus love, both of them went through rehabilitation program, got free from alcohol addiction, then got married, and with passion are helping other people. Lena was well educated, but because of alcohol addiction she lost her job and everything. Now, she is back to normal and doing well administrative work for this center. Lena could catch public attention by TV to the needs of Rehab: digging the well for this center and building the road. Few times she has been asked, “Why are you doing this? You could get a better position somewhere else.” She has her testimony for many people.

Igor and Lena learned a process of growing potatoes and other vegetables and taking care for animals. Alco center has cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, dogs, goats, and a hors. Last spring, Robert O’Connor and we helped to cover expenses for a piece of land so they could get potatoes for people of two rehabs and hay for their animals. Lena and Igor and all rehabilitants are happy to have food for their table. The weather is already cold here: in the morning was below friezing mark.

We had a Bible class at this center and prayed for people’s needs. One person decided to ask God for forgiveness. We led him in prayer to Jesus. Praise God! Our Father’s house has many rooms, and they should be filled up.

Part of the Rehabilitation program is a work therapy and taking care of animals.

Small church in Bratsk city

On September 14, we had a privilege to worship God with a small church in Bratsk area, Pastor Vitaliy Kokorin. The city has a big power station on the river Angara. A year ago, in July of 2007, Natasha and Andy Trapp, Sarah Troyer, and Yuriy Drozhzhin prayed for people of that small group. It was a great time of worship at that moment and now. Christians are growing in God’s grace. They are getting closer to God and each other by working together, by doing reconstruction work for the church building. We had a Sunday church service with a teaching and prayer time. We could see up to 50 people in this small church at that day.

Please pray for this family. Andrey is a guitar player in a worship team, and he was diagnosed with leukemia. He, his wife, and his daughters pray for his healing. They need a miracle from our God. Please pray with them for the God’s miracle of healing.

Visiting villages

During the week of September 7, we were able to visit two villages: N. Igirma and Shumilovo.

N. Igirma has a Rehab center for the alcohol and drug abused people. Ivan Plyaskin is a leader of this center. Many people came through the center and received God’s healing. We met few of them, who we prayed for during our previous visit, and who came back home after rehabilitation program and is free from a drug and alcohol addiction.

We were glad to stop by the church building in a small village of Shumilovo and to see pastor’s face. We couldn’t let pastor know in advance when we are coming because that area doesn’t have telephones or cell phones. But our Father God knew pastor’s heart and his needs. We could pray and minister to the pastor’s needs. He received a fresh anointing for his ministry. By 8 pm at that evening, people arrived to the church (even with out telephones:). Their hearts were open for God’s words. We prayed for their needs. With a big interest, young and adults were watching pictures on our computer screen from banana’s farm, Ecuador.
